Animal Care Student AssistantAt — CSUF - College of Natural Science & Mathematics

- Student will be responsible for the care of facility animals and the sanitation and cleaning of the facility.
- Position requires student to be able to communicate effectively with their supervisor and teammates.
- Work well with other faculty and staff members.
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work effectively.

Learning Outcomes  

- Learn and improve skills including verbal communication, writing, teamwork, and leadership.
- Learn how to take initiative.
- Learn the aspects of research.

Training  

- Perform hands-on training
- CITI Program training
- Reading of the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)

Tasks/Duties  

- Student is required to communicate at the end of the day all tasks completed and report if anything is out of the ordinary.
- There will be times that there is extra duties to be completed that will not be assigned work, that the student is to take initiative, as in reporting low inventory or restocking of supplies when they are low.
- Daily care and observations of research animals will learn what are and aren't expected research outcomes.
