Youth Development Professional-InternAt — Boys & Girls Clubs of Garden Grove

Develops and implements programs and services that align with the organization’s mission, vision and philosophies as well as grant and GGUSD guidelines. Serves as a role model for youth and establishes meaningful relationships that will encourage and motivate youth participation.

Tasks
1. Planning intentional educational activities
2. Facilitating activities with youth
3. Developing monthly calendar according to program guidelines using 5 Core Areas
4. Contributing to staff meetings for collaborative feedback
5. Actively engaging with youth and incorporating feedback and expectations

Training
1. Shadow current staff in various program areas
2. Schedule 1:1 meetings or check-ins to give or receive feedback
3. Work with the intern to create learning objectives or SMART goals
4. Provide on going coaching through active observation
5. Share professional development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills

Learning Outcomes
1. Use positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students
2. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and policies and procedures to maintain order among students
3. Create activities that fit child needs
4. Assist/ provide homework help to elementary students
5. Evaluate youth needs through on going check-ins and develop activities to address those needs
