Community Programs Intern (Fall 2024)At — Miracles for Kids
Responsibilities
The community programs intern position is focused on providing support to the community programs team, primarily focusing on program event coordination and administrative support. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and organized team player. Responsibilities include:
- Provide logistical support to community programs team
- Assist in execution of programs/events
- Telephone and email communications regarding community programs with our families
- Inventory tracking
- Reviewing and editing family profiles and stories
- Assist the Community Programs Director with any special projects as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (Communications, public relations, sociology, or similar)
- Must be well organized, flexible, and able to adapt to change
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport with families, volunteers, and donors
- Able to work event hours. Shifts will be based on event schedules, and you must be able to work evenings and/or weekends based on our event calendar
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Events require standing, walking, and/or moving
- Bilingual Spanish a plus but not required
Tasks:
- Assist team with event planning and coordination (Basket of Miracles, Surf & Paddle Camp, housing program events)
- Data tracking and inventory tracking (stats of programs, track incoming donations and organizing them)
- Call program families for various needs (updated information, inform them of upcoming programs, etc.)
Training:
- Intern orientation
- weekly supervision meetings with the Director
- shadowing team on various tasks/projects
- hands-on training with tasks
