Opportunity Summary 

Internship for the CalWORKs Office at Fullerton College. 

Intern will gain an understanding of county forms
and the importance of utilizing these forms for the tracking of
students' attendance and progress. In addition, intern will learn
how to collaborate effectively with the county personnel which is
an important component of serving our students. Skills to be developed include the ability to complete in-depth research of the program components which includes but is not limited to the research and collection of data and the identification and understand of the role of the student support services provided. Skills developed include how to plan and execute events and workshops. Intern will learn how to work effectively and collaboratively with campus departments and staff. Intern will learn the policies and processes of event planning.

Training:

Student will have a mandatory meeting with the CalWORKs Office Coordinator. Student will meet with Office Coordinator once a week. In addition, student will also have in person training by staff and counselors.

Learning Outcomes:

Student will learn forms that are utilized in tracking
students' attendance and progress, as well as processes for completion and submission to the county. Student will be able to develop a training manual which provides an in-depth description of the CalWORKs Program, which includes but is not limited to the student population, number of students served and student support services provided. Student will be able to provide support for the CalWORKs team in the planning of student events and developing workshops.
