Community Safety Partnership InternAt — LAPD

Student/Intern will assist Officers with communicating with the community the options and events coming up during the months.

The student will be speaking with community members, organize meetings, and prepare literature for the meetings. The student will also work with officers directly and assist them when communicating with the community.

Training:

The student will have an orientation where they are introduced to the officers they will be working with and have an one-on-one mentor meetings with the officer they are working with or the supervisor. The student will be shown and taught what all and each resources are and how they are obtained by the community.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to identify resources for the community, be well diverse in the options given to the community, and learn leadership, time management, communication, and organization. The internship will put the student out of their comfort zone making them become more comfortable and confident when speaking to others.
