Opportunity Summary 

• Shadow multiple positions and train in a variety of accounting related tasks.
• Assist with daily posting, printing, and mailing invoices.
• Assist with daily application of check, wire and ACH payments.
• Follow up and collect payments.
• Communicate with customers and vendors via phone, email and / or mail.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Code invoices to proper general ledger accounts and obtain proper approvals.
• General accounting support and other accounting projects as assigned.

Post, print, and mail daily invoices.
Deposit and apply daily cash receipts.
Follow up on past due accounts.
Code invoices to proper accounts and route for approvals.
Research and resolve payment discrepancies.

Training:

Employee will undergo typical on-board process for new hires. Employee will participate in weekly accounting department meetings. Employee will shadow various accounting department team members to learn their roles.
Employee will be mentored by the Controller.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to do the following:
1. Knowledge of Tipalti AP Automation platform to code various types of bills to proper general ledger accounts and submit for proper approval routing.
2. Knowledge of Expense Wire expense reporting software to review employee expenses and review and approve if they agree with company policy.
3. Engage with customers and vendors through phone, email, or mail to follow up and collect payments. This will improve communication skills as they learn to professionally interact with stakeholders.
