Titan Radio Music & Event Coordination InternAt — CSUF - Titan Communications

Opportunity Summary 

The position requires students to work and collaborate with other departments of Titan Radio. The Music and Event Coordination internship requires students to manage Titan Radio's Titan Radio 2's music content. They are also in charge of processing new music distributed to the station from local music acts. This includes finding creative ways to engage our audiences to our second stream, and update it frequently with fresh new music. The music and promotions department also takes the lead with promotional events for the station. The other internship portion requires students to promote the radio station in person by representing Titan Radio at tabling events and providing DJ services to campus clubs and organizations. Students are also responsible for being available in person for their shift and being a resource for live and prerecorded DJs.

The intern will demonstrate the learning outcomes by showing proficiency and improvement in the quality of the content that they put on Titan Radio, students will learn to show comfort and embrace promoting and being an ambassador of the station both in person and through our social media content. Students in this position will learn great organizational and collaborative skills whether its collaborating with their directors, street team or DJ volunteers.

Training:

To help the students achieve the proposed learning out comes, I help Students and staff collaborate one on one with department directors to meet weekly, monthly, and semester long goals. Work to improve knowledge and feeling of working in a radio station environment while maintaining a creative space allowing students to take chances and learn techniques to improve the outcome of their product. Practice and repetition to main and grow new found skills with plenty of real world comparable content for their work portfolio.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the internship, the student will able to show proof of real world radio experience collaborating with the multiple departments of a full functioning radio station. Students will gain the experience of managing multiple social media outlets for a real world entertainment entity, along with other basic training from other departments such as programming, technical, and marketing. Students will exercise in person communicative skills working with listener market, and in additional students get the opportunity to experience programming first hand with option of having their own air shift on the station.
