Our firm is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Communications Interns to join our dynamic team. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various areas of communications, including copywriting, organizing, and assisting in the creation of materials for our diverse range of clients. Interns will work closely with our experienced team to support and execute communication strategies, helping to build their own professional portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and copywriting of press releases, media pitches, and other communication materials.
  • Organize and maintain client materials and media lists.
  • Support the development of strategic communication plans and campaigns.
  • Conduct research on media outlets, industry trends, and competitive analysis.
  • Aid in the planning and execution of events, including logistics and coordination.
  • Collaborate with the team on social media management, including content creation and scheduling.
  • Work with Canva to create engaging social media content.
  • Use Agorapulse for social media management and social listening/monitoring.
  • Utilize the firm's task management software to collaborate with other interns and team members.
  • Create presentations for clients using PowerPoint and Google Slides.
  • Organize data via Excel and Google Sheets for team use.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop creative ideas and strategies for clients.
  • Provide general administrative support as needed.

Tasks:

Interns will perform the following duties:

Create Communication Materials: Write press releases, talking points, media pitches, advertisements, video scripts and other materials.

Social Media Content: Design content using Canva to allow for collaborations and manage social media with Agorapulse.

Team Collaboration: Use task management software, Asana, to work with team members and other interns.

Client Presentations: Create professional presentations using PowerPoint and Google Slides.

Research and Data Analysis: Conduct research and organize data using Excel and Google Sheets.

Event Support: Assist in planning and executing events, including logistics and coordination.

Brainstorming Sessions: Participate in team brainstorming sessions to help foster new ideas for our clients.

Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support as needed, including preparation for client meetings and office support.

Training:

Interns at Venture Strategic will receive the following training:

Orientation: Introduction meetings to review company policies, procedures, and services.

Mentor Meetings: Regular one-on-one meetings with a coordinator for guidance and feedback.

Job Shadowing: Opportunities to observe and collaborate with our experienced team members.

Workshops: Training sessions on skills like copywriting, social media management, and graphic design.

Task Overview and Samples: Examples of high-quality work and explanations of tasks.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:

Create effective communication materials: Develop skills in writing press releases, media pitches, and social media content.

Use communication tools proficiently: Gain experience with Canva for design, Agorapulse for social media management, and task management software for team collaboration.

Conduct research and organize data: Learn to research media outlets and industry trends, and organize data using Excel and Google Sheets.

Create professional presentations: Develop the ability to create and present client decks, proposal and presentation materials.
