Events Artwalk Promotions Intern Fall 2024At — The Frida Cinema
The Frida Cinema is seeking two Interns to assist in the facilitation of one of our organization's new flagship events, the monthly DTSA First Saturdays ArtWalk. This community-wide event, which takes place the first Saturday of every month, draws thousands of residents and visitors to Downtown Santa Ana for local, diverse, and unique community arts programming, including artisan and niche vendors, and over 20+ art galleries and studios featuring rotating art shows, performances, and live music. This Internship is an ideal position for those seeking experience in the fields of Marketing, Communications, and Event Production, with responsibilities including outreach to galleries and artists; updating of event website, newsletter, and social media; sponsor outreach; and production assistant at the events themselves. Schedule is flexible, but Interns should expect to work on both the first Friday and Saturday of every month.
Tasks:
with responsibilities including outreach to galleries and artists; updating of event website, newsletter, and social media; sponsor outreach; and production assistant at the events themselves.
Training:
Intern will work directly under the Executive Director and Founder, who would personally supervise and work with intern during Intern's shift - though Intern will not be micro-managed, and is expected to work diligently but at their own pace. Intern will have Director as continued resource to get their questions answered and tasks clarified, and Director will consistently provide feedback on work. Intern will also be given a Formal review after first two weeks of work, as well as after completion of Internship; but again, general feedback will be consistent. Beyond those duties assigned by Executive Director, Intern will also know that they are welcome to communicate any other aspects of organization/cinema's operations that they would like to know more about for their own enrichment and/or job experience.
Learning Outcome:
Intern will receive hands-on experience, directly under the founder and director of Orange County's only independent art house cinema, with the ins and outs of a non-profit arts organization with a focus on the cinematic arts.
