Public Relations InternAt — PopShorts

Opportunity Summary 

PopShorts is looking for its next round of interns. The only requirement is a strong passion for public communication. We are looking for at least 120 hours commitment but the work schedules can be completely flexible around school schedules. 

PopShorts is the 3x incumbent for Best Boutique Agency in LA as named by ThinkLA. We are an influencer marketing agency that has been recognized 13 times by the Shorty Awards for honors such as \\Best on Instagram\\ and \\Best Facebook Partnership\\. We've worked with social media celebrities to make content for the likes of Netflix, Google, Disney, Sony, Chase, Fox, ABC, NBC, Paramount, Burger King, Nature Made, The CW, and Hulu.

This position will be largely writing-based. You will respond to HARO daily and oversee influencer bios and blog writing. 

There is no financial compensation but we can provide course credit and a letter of recommendation upon completion of the internship.

Duties will include drafting pitches in response to daily HARO (help a reporter out) emails, research, blog writing, managing our public presence, and use of contact lists from Cision.

Training:

The training will include:
4-hour orientation to ensure the candidate understands our company and goals
Daily meetings to help learning process
Work directly with the our head of business development to create PR strategy

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to expertly write press releases and press pitches, identify branding strategies on social media, understand advertising KPIs on social media, and be able to execute key word blog writing.
