LA Talent Agency InternshipAt — Bella Agency
The intern will learn the agency side of the entertainment industry - learning directly from commercial, print, and theatrical agents for both Adult and Youth Divisions. The intern will be shown the role of an agent in the industry, shadowing both assistants and agents daily for a well-rounded and thorough education.
● During payment processes, package creating, self-tape submitting, and pitching the student will shadow industry professionals during their daily work.
● The student will familiarize themselves with the strengths of each talent, selecting the most suitable candidates for specific projects/shoots, and eventually submitting package choices for review by agents.
● Specific semester/weekly tasks to be clearly communicated at the start of the summer session. Both Adult and Youth departments will teach and train to ensure an equal learning experience.
● The student will perform managerial tasks such as filing paperwork, updating talent info (portfolios, sizes, digitals, bookouts, credits across all websites), and managing additions and deletions of talent. This is daily agency work that requires knowledge of industry platforms and talent upkeep, and will be less than 20% of the internship duties and objectives.
Training:
Student will complete orientation during their first week at Bella, where they will be introduced to the agents and complete an orientation meeting with the Internship coordinator where they will review their list of ongoing summer projects. During this first week, we will establish daily routines and begin shadowing basic tasks. Throughout the duration of the internship, daily shadowing will occur, where the student will sit in on the accounting process, package creations, job submissions, talent scouting, pitching, and all use of casting sites. They will slowly transition from shadowing to completing the above independently. At all times, the student will be surrounded by assistants and agents for any questions. Student will complete bi-weekly meetings with assistants from both departments to go over weekly updates and report on ongoing summer projects.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to familiarize themselves with industry-standard casting sites, know how the agency business works from start to finish, how to scout talent, will learn agency-specific accounting practices, will communicate with industry professionals, and learn enough about roster to be able to submit talent for projects.
