Opportunity Summary
Intern will serve as an Undergraduate Course Assistant for a section of PSYC 300 (Intermediate Research Methods & Statistics) that I teach. Intern will attend lectures, assist with classroom activities, grade assignments, and hold office hours; will also conduct a review session before midterm and final exams.
Learning Outcomes
- Become familiar with a variety instructional methods and classroom activities.
2. Gain experience with assisting students who need additional instruction to master the material.
3. Follow scoring rubrics to evaluate student assignments.
4. Provide feedback to instructor regarding effectiveness of instruction.
Training
- Meet with intern before semester for general orientation.
2. Communicate with intern before/during/after class regarding expectations for classroom activities.
3. Provide scoring rubrics to intern for grading assignments
4. Provide supervision via email or Zoom, as needed.
Tasks/Duties
- Observation of interactions with students during classroom activities.
2. Reports of maintaining office hours and review sessions.
3. Random checks on grading student assignments to ensure scoring rubrics are followed.
4. Regular interactions with intern regarding class progress and effectiveness of instruction.
