Opportunity Summary 

The Neighborhood Initiative Intern will be working closely with OC United staff to provide services, classes and information to the community.  Intern will create specific hours and tasks based on programs and services needed.

Intern will attend and assist with English language classes, interact with families who receive services and attend programs as assigned by Neighborhoods staff.

Training:

Orientation to OC United programs and services. Weekly one-on-one mentor training with Gaby Garcia, Director of the Neighborhoods Initiative at OC United, and job shadowing with Neighborhoods staff members.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to articulate the community needs observed, resources to assist the community and the barriers in the community that need to be addressed.
