Mental Health TechnicianAt — First Light Recovery
JOB SUMMARY:
The Treatment Technician staff is under direct supervision providing adult supervision; assists in the maintenance of a safe, secure environment that enhances treatment. The Treatment Technician operates in a transitional, residential environment.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Provides care to clients in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
· Assists clients with activities of daily living; attends to client behavioral issues and provides assistance in crisis intervention, as needed.
· Works with a multi-disciplinary team in leading milieu activities such as current events groups, community meetings, life skills, and/or recreational activities, as appropriate to the specified population.
· Charts client observations, following policy and procedures requirements/mandates.
· Participates in the development and implementation of treatment programs.
· Maintains confidentiality of client and all records.
· Transports clients to and from community appointments, clinics, labs, and/or treatments, as and when appropriate.
· Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
· Document and utilize Electronic Medical Record.
· Attend all mandatory staff meetings, group sessions, and in-service education.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Attainment of at least 18 years of age
· A Criminal Background Clearance
· A Health Screening with TB test results
· If in the program, minimum one year of continuous sobriety.
· High School Diploma or possess a GED
· Must be detail oriented with good oral and written communication skills.
· 1-year of full-time experience, or its part-time equivalent, working in a program serving persons with mental disabilities. Such experience must be in the direct provision of services to clients. If you do not have the required experience, the program will document a specific plan of supervision and in-service training for the employee which will guarantee the ongoing qualification to perform the job. The plan will include but not be limited to the frequency and number of hours of training, the subjects to be covered, and a description of the supervision to be provided.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
· Valid California’s Driver’s License
· Current CPR certification
· Current First Aid certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Employee is required to talk or hear while on duty and frequently required to stand and walk. Occasionally, the employee is required to sit and use a computer and/or reach with hands and arms.
