Opportunity Summary 

Assist the Co-Head Athletic Trainers with the prevention, care and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
The intern will learn how to use prophylactic taping techniques.
The intern will learn about the therapeutic modalities used at Fullerton College.
Must be CPR/AED/ first-aid certified.
Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
The intern will become proficient as a hydration specialist.
Proper and professional attire must be worn at all times.
Oral and written communication

Application of prophylactic taping for various body parts.
Concussion assessment and documentation.
Use of Sports Ware medical database.
Injury assessment and documentation.
First-Aid when applicable.

Training:

Initial mandatory orientation followed by by-weekly meetings. The intern will job shadow the entire time spent in the Athletic Training Room, and will learn to cooperate with other student staff.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to demonstrate proper prophylactic taping techniques to various body parts, apply correct therapeutic modalities and be proficient in practice field set up and breakdown.
