St. Columbkille School is seeking a candidate for internship to provide after school academic tutoring to our students in TK-8th Grade. The candidate must be knowledgeable in education and have taken courses to prepare him/her to provide tutoring to students.
Tasks
1. Intern will provide support to students with completion of homework.
2. Intern will provide tutoring services to student based on student needs.
3. Intern will enhance their academic knowledge and ability to interact with students.
4. Intern will balance school, work, and internship to learn time management skills that will help with life balance.
5. Intern will develop positive relationships with students being tutored.
Training
1. Intern will receive orientation from the principal.
2. Intern will be supervised by day care supervisor.
3. Principal will do weekly check in to evaluate intern and provide support.
4. Teachers can support Intern with skills need to provide tutoring to students.
5. Intern will be evaluated by principal.
Learning Outcomes
1.Interns develop the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms, adapt teaching strategies, and engage students with diverse learning needs.
2.Through teaching, interns reinforce their own understanding of academic subjects, often deepening their content knowledge.
3.Tutors enhance their ability to communicate clearly and effectively, as well as develop empathy and active listening skills to better understand students' needs.
4.Interns take on the role of a mentor, developing leadership skills by managing groups of students or guiding individual learners.
5.Balancing the demands of tutoring, school, and personal life teaches interns how to manage their time efficiently and set priorities.
