Activity AssistantAt — Ridgeview Health Center

The activities assistant is responsible for assisting with the overall planning and implementation of a variety of activity programs designed to meet the physical, emotional spiritual needs of the health center residents.

Maintains current and accurate documentation for residence, daily activity, participation, and follows the individualized plan of care for each resident

attends all in-service training and works to achieve personal professional growth through continuing education

Training
Student will receive computer based employer training, employer orientation, weekly 1:1 meetings, on the job shadowing.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the academic internship the student will be able to interact with residents with cognitive impairment, age related illnesses, families and community vendors. Student will be able to discuss activity plans and how residents are doing with their family members. Student will be able to speak in front of groups of people and give presentations on a variety of topics. Student will be able to provide 1:1 engagement for those living with alzheimers and dementia.
