ANTH 315 Service Learning: U-ACREAt — CSUF - U-ACRE
Urban Agriculture Community-based Research Experience (U-ACRE) fellows and associates participating in the Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton develop technical and research skills. U-ACRE student activities include participating in the set-up and maintenance of aquaculture, hydroponic, and vermi-compost systems to purse research projects. Student research focuses on sustainable practices in urban agriculture and specific projects
The following student learning outcomes are met through this position:
• Demonstrate leadership and teamwork in a diverse environment including community engagement
• Develop research question and methods focusing on urban food systems, food decision making, or resource management
• Collect and analyze quantitative and/or qualitative data
• Disseminate results of their experience through effective oral and written communication
This semester, students will be working in the farm at the Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton as well as the campus garden at Cal State Fullerton.
