Opportunity Summary 

Public Health Learning Outcomes in a Food Handing Environment. 

PUBH Environmental Health and Occupational Safety students 

-Compliance with state and federal regulations
-Label and dating foods
-Allergen awareness
-Cleaning and sanitizing surfaces to prevent cross contamination
-Refrigerator/freezer temperature compliance
-Staff in-services
-Time and temperature control
-Basic hygiene (wahing hands, glove use)

Training:

The training will be one-on-one with the dietary director. The student will have hands-on training to learn safe food handling environments and reduce public health risks.

Learning Outcomes:

Acquiring knowledge and skills to prevent foodborne illnesses, ensure hygiene compliance and overall food safety. A few learning goals include:
-Ensure hygiene compliance/understanding contamination risks
-proper food storage and preparation
-sanitation protocols
