Spring 2025 Processes & Functions Internship 

Join our home improvement company as a Processes & Functions Intern for Spring 2025! We’re looking for detail-oriented and driven Cal State Fullerton students eager to make a real impact on our operational excellence. 

Role Overview: 

As a Processes & Functions Intern, you will work on projects that enhance and streamline our internal processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across departments. This hands-on experience will help you understand how critical functions support business growth. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Analyze and map current business processes to identify inefficiencies
• Develop and recommend improvements to optimize workflow and resource allocation
• Collaborate with operations, sales, and project management teams to implement process enhancements
• Monitor the effectiveness of changes and prepare performance reports
• Assist in creating process documentation, training materials, and best practices

What We’re Looking For: 

• Current CSUF student with a strong interest in operations, business management, or process improvement
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Effective communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with process mapping tools is a plus

 Tasks:

1. Analyze Business Processes: Map and evaluate current workflows to identify areas for improvement.

2. Develop Improvement Plans: Create actionable strategies to streamline operations and increase efficiency.

3. Collaborate with Teams: Work with different departments to implement process changes and gather feedback.

4. Monitor Performance Metrics: Track the success of new processes and prepare performance reports.

5. Document Procedures: Create detailed documentation of processes and best practices for future reference.

Training:

The student is required to meet in the office at least twice a week where they will shadow their mentor. The shadowing consist of meeting the staff, explain the company culture, missions, goals and things of that nature.  The mandatory training will consist of learning the software's that we use.
1. Process Mapping Training: Learn how to map and analyze business workflows effectively. 2. Data Analysis Workshop: Gain skills in interpreting data to identify trends and make strategic decisions. 3. Project Management Basics: Understand the fundamentals of managing projects from start to finish. 4. Lean & Six Sigma Overview: Introduction to continuous improvement methodologies and practices. 5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Training on effective teamwork and communication across departments.

Learning Outcome:

1. Understand and apply process mapping techniques to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions. 2. Gain experience in analyzing data to drive informed decision-making and process improvements. 3. Develop skills in project management, including planning, execution, and performance evaluation. 4. Learn how to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective operational strategies. 5. Build a foundational knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and their real-world applications.
