Opportunity Summary 

Outpatient physical therapy office in Alhambra looking for students, post grad, pre professionals interested in becoming a Physical Therapist but need volunteer or paid hours as a Physical Therapist Aide.

This position is ideal for the one that is planning on going into healthcare (PT , OT , Speech, Physician's Assistants). You will accumulate the necessary hours to allow you to apply for Grad School. If you are in your gap year, this would be perfect. If you are still in college and need to start getting hours, we are flexible also for part time employees.

There are several positions open and we are looking for someone who is professional, responsible, willing to learn, adaptable, flexible, kind, patient, and wants to work with patients. Training will be provided before you will work with our patients.

Responsibilities will include office and clerical support, exercise instruction to patients, set up of physical therapy modalities, and assist the Physical Therapist in other patient and non patient related tasks.

If you are interested only as a front office receptionist, there is a position open for this as well. All of our PT Aides are dual trained to work at the front office.

Bilingual in Cantonese, Mandarin, and or Spanish would be helpful.

We work with all patient populations and patient types...typical patients include pre PT for surgical prep, post PT for surgical follow ups, chronic aches and pains, sports and work injuries, strokes, etc.

1.Teach and assist patients with exercises
2. set up and apply modalites (electrical stimulation, ultrasound, traction, hot/cold packs
3. Answer phones
4. Input relevant patient information into computer system
5. Scheduling
6. Call insurance companies to verify insurance and authorizations

Training:

Orientation to the facility
Training on how to interact with patients and educate/teach exercises prescribed by the PT
Learning alongside with current PT Aides( job shadowing)

Learning Outcomes:

Student will assist the primary licensed physical therapist in patient and non patient related task. They will take the prescribed exercises and assist the patient through the exercise program. Students will also learn how to apply certain modalities including application of TENS, IFC, Russian Stimulation, ultrasound, traction, hot and cold packs. Student will learn how to assist the front office with duties pertaining to the front desk including calling insurance groups and verifying insurances.
