Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and driven film student for an internship at our virtual production studio. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, innovative environment while contributing to real-world projects that push the boundaries of traditional filmmaking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the setup and operation of virtual production equipment, including LED volumes, motion capture systems, and real-time rendering tools.
  • Support previsualization and on-set workflows, collaborating closely with directors, producers, and technical teams.
  • Conduct research and provide creative input during concept development and storyboarding phases.
  • Assist in managing digital assets, including 3D models, textures, and animations.
  • Observe and participate in the integration of real-time engines like Unreal Engine into production pipelines.
  • Provide logistical support on set, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Shadow key team members to gain insight into various roles within the virtual production process.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited film program or related field with a strong academic record.
  • Passionate about filmmaking and eager to learn about virtual production technologies.
  • Familiarity with film production processes, including pre-production, shooting, and post-production.
  • Basic understanding of tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Unreal Engine, or Blender is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Willingness to take initiative and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Location: hybrid, or fully remote, along with the studio location when applicable.

Tasks
- prep, install and deploy full scale motion capture system
- conduct a complete motion capture shoot from calibration to post process of 3D data
- virtual camera tracking / shooting against VP LED walls for final

Training
- 209 group company orientation
- motion capture hardware and software training
- Unreal Engine / virtual production use
- weekly tech reviews with mentor
- on set job shadowing for virtual production shoots

Learning Outcome
1. create content for virtual production workflow - preproduction
2. shoot actual content using a virtual production stage
3. edit and deliver final images from above - post production
