Peer Advisor Team LeadAt — CSUF - Veterans Resource Center

The Peer Advisor Team Lead will be responsible for leading peer advisors that assist student veterans through their educational journey. The PATL will participate in finding strategies for connecting with student veterans, organizing community events, and tracking logs submitted by peer advisors. The purpose of the position is to provide a resource and support to student veterans in higher education.Learning Outcomes- Assist in the recruitment, training, and orientation of new peer advisors
- Provide case management style approaches to the peer advisors supporting student veterans
- Provide support to peer advisors, helping them develop their advising and communication skills
- Organize and lead team meetings to discuss program progress, challenges, and solutionsTraining- Provide resources and trainings from previous successful recruitment strategies
- Describe case management concepts and approaches when assisting peer advisors and student veterans
- Provide framework and information on support practices and techniques
- Provide all collected on and off campus resources student veterans may needTasks/Duties- Complete initial online training modules
- Refer student veterans to university, federal, and community resources as needed
- Complete all interaction and outreach logs on a regular basis
- Coordinate times to call or meet with peer advisors
