Admissions Assistant InternAt — Orange County Rescue Mission

Opportunity Summary 

The intern will be learning how to conduct phone interviews, in-person interviews, and intakes of applicants.

Intern will learn our web-based treatment planning and recording system.

Duties:

-Perform mental health screenings on all incoming students and conduct subsequent tests at designated milestones within students' programs
-Assist in screening, follow-up, interviewing, intakes and referrals for potential and incoming students
-Provide accurate analytics and reporting relevant to the screening and admissions process
-Supervision of incoming interns, coordinate interviews with any intern candidates, and be the liaison to the schools the interns come from

Training:

At OCRM, interns will be shadowing the Admissions Manager for the first couple of weeks, as to become familiar with what our programs offer.
Upon completion of this training, interns will conduct interviews for placement of applicants and report their findings to the Admissions Manager for further coaching and instruction.
Interns will meet with the Admissions Manager prior to and after the days goals and objectives have been achieved.

Learning Outcomes:

Intern will learn when a potential client needs to be referred to an outside agency.
Intern will become well versed in OCRM protocols and procedures regarding intake and admissions.
Interns will be able to navigate our vast resource and referral guides.
Intern will be able to input and navigate our state of the art recording system.
