Opportunity Summary 

Position Summary:

Assists clinical or program staff in implementing clinical, program, substance abuse and other services to meet treatment goals, in various settings, in accordance with the client’s needs, applicable contracts, laws and standards of practice.

Essential Duties:

Based on the practicum placement within the agency, the following duties may apply/as assigned

  • As directed, provide and coordinate treatment services (including but not limited to screening, comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, counseling, individual and group sessions, meetings, crisis intervention, report writing and documentation).
  • Coordinate, track, and document groups (i.e. rehabilitation and 12-step recovery programs meetings).
  • Complete documentation as required (i.e. Progress/Contact Notes).
  • Give assistance for account of the client population and knowledge of their whereabouts as applicable.
  • Give direct help to clients where needed by modeling, instructing, and assisting with tasks.
  • Assist clients in preparing for school, job or other appointments as assigned.
  • Assist clients with personal grooming as assigned.
  • Assist supervision of client chore duties/cleaning as applicable.
  • Assist in obtaining and providing educational literature to clients.
  • Work closely with various departments to assist clients in meeting treatment goals.
  • Facilitate creative leisure time activities as applicable.
  • Supervise shopping and recreational outings.
  • If time permits, attend weekly mandatory team and staff meetings, as well as required in-service training and case reviews.
  • Assist in the coordination of outside treatment resources as assigned.
  • Assist, as directed, in discharge planning and after care services as needed including necessary referrals.
  • Attend weekly supervision.
  • Maintain standards and professional environment in keeping with state, county, and agency’s guidelines and regulations.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement process and outcome measures.
  • Be culturally competent and sensitive to all staff, clients and their families.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and open communication with all contacts.
  • Follow all CSCF personnel policies and contract stipulations.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Enrolled in BA or BS program in the related field of human services or enrolled in chemical dependency/other certification program. No experience needed. For a Certified CAADE/intern experience in substance abuse or knowledge of 12-step recovery program preferred.
