The student will learn the basics of protein biochemistry, including recombinant protein expression, purification, and analysis.

Learning Outcomes  

The student will be able to perform the following independently:
-Prepare buffers for protein purification
-Express recombinant proteins in E. coli
-Purify proteins through column chromatography

Training  

The supervisor will oversee the student's development through one-on-one meetings, mentorship in the lab, and literature review.

Tasks/Duties  

The student will demonstrate the learning outcomes by independently preparing solutions, expressing proteins, and performing purification steps. Meetings with the supervisor will provide a critical analysis on performance and student outcome.
