PSYC 346 Service Learning: AASCSCAt — AASCSC - Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center

Opportunity Summary

AASCSC has programs in many areas and we also continue to expand. Some examples of our current programs include older adults wellness, mental health, health equity related initiatives, early childhood education & parenting support, adolescent leadership & community service, civic engagement initiatives, Stop Asian Hate & community safety, and social justice & community advocacy initiatives. Some of the tasks that service-learning students may assist with include coordinating with partner organizations/agencies, planning and/or participating in events and other AASCSC activities, assisting community members that are utilizing AASCSC’s services, and assisting with grant writing or other funding opportunities. Service-learning students will have regular meetings with their supervisor to discuss their goals and identify current projects that they are interested in. Other tasks may also be assigned by the supervisor as appropriate.

Service-learning students will primarily be serving in-person in an office setting (850 N Birch St, Santa Ana, CA 92701). Some events will be in a community setting (virtual or in-person throughout Orange County, CA).
