You will work with professional equipment, create media content for real-world campaigns, and collaborate on community-driven projects. This internship is designed to foster your personal and professional growth in media strategy, technical expertise, and community communication.

What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)

Interns are active members of our communications team and will take the lead on key projects, including:

• Content Creation & Storytelling: Filming and editing video projects—from short interviews and testimonials to full-length features—that directly promote Higher Ground’s mission.

• On-Set Production: Setting up and operating professional cameras, lighting rigs, and audio equipment to ensure all media output is high-quality.

• Post-Production: Utilizing industry-standard software (like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro) for editing raw footage, including sound mixing, color correction, and adding effects.

• Marketing Collaboration: Working alongside the communications team to create engaging media tailored for marketing campaigns and social media outreach.

• Educational Outreach: Leading or assisting in film production workshops for elementary, middle, and high school students, which will help you build leadership and teaching skills.

• Media Strategy: Contributing your creative ideas during brainstorming sessions for upcoming media projects and providing valuable feedback on existing content.

• General Orientation: An initial session covering Higher Ground’s mission, organizational culture, and internship expectations.
