Patient Experience Intern VolunteerAt — UCI Health

The Patient Experience Intern will complete a number of duties on UCI Health Medical Center campus. From making rounds on inpatient units and charting numbers to completing data collection tasks. The volunteer intern will also assist Volunteer Services with numerous administration projects and continue to support any incoming projects.

Tasks:

- Data collection and analysis
- Administration assistance with numerous departments
- Volunteering on a hospital nursing unit and providing services to patients
- Learning and understanding basic hospital operations

Training:

- Initial volunteer onboarding procedures and training
- Nursing unit orientation and daily shadowing
- Administration guidelines and policies followed at all times

Learning Outcome:

- Have a better understanding of hospital operations
- Gain communication skills in volunteering with numerous staff and departments
- Learn hospital policies and procedures while gaining insight into improving the Patient Experience
