Assist aides and PT's with daily duties like cleaning, equipment cleaning and set up as well as patient/clinic care.

Tasks
Students are allowed to shadow our PT aides and see how they take patients through their exercise programs. They will help them set up exercises as well as learn what the exercises are exactly doing with the patients. They will also be relied on to help the aides with upkeep of the office through laundry and wiping tables and exercises equipment after each patient. They must help get hot packs and ice packs for patients so they must have knowledge of which packs are for which body part.

Training
We have a general training packet that we have all new interns fill out and be completed by the end of their time with us, from how to we clean and fold our laundry, our cleaning methods and the chemicals we use to keep the office clean. How we use our hot pack system and ice recovery tools and overall basic maintenance of our work place.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to do all tasks that a normal PT aide would do in their day to day work life. They will learn how to time manage and multi task while working in a fast pace environment. They get a behind the scenes look how PT's put exercise programs together and how they choose certain exercises/ stretches.
