Academic AideAt — Empowering Success Now

Academic Aides will work directly with middle school students in an after-school setting on the school campus. 

This is grant funded program. Staff members are employed by Empowering Success Now and provide tutoring services on behalf of Empowering Success Now, independent of the school district.  

Tasks:

Classroom instruction, student engagement, assessments, progress monitoring, collaboration and mentorship, data collection, documentation of behavior and incidents, & co-facilitate enrichment sessions.

Training:

After the initial employer orientation, student will receive weekly mentoring to discuss progress, challenges, and goals, hands-on practice with curriculum development tools and student assessment strategies, materials on youth development, instructional strategies, and goal-setting methodologies, and periodic knowledge checks and self-assessments to reinforce learning and application of training content.

Learning Outcome:

1) become familiar with the classroom learning environment, 2) identify student needs & types of support available, 3) communication with students, communication with parents about their child's progress 4) track student progress 5) implement engaging enrichment lessons
