Marketing Communications/Graphic Design Volunteer/InternAt — Project Access
Position Summary: The Marketing Communications Intern will support Project Access in enhancing its brand presence through digital and print marketing materials. This role is ideal for a creative self-starter with a background in graphic design and an interest in nonprofit communications. The intern will contribute to the development of social media content, PowerPoint presentations, flyers, and other branded materials to help tell the Project Access story effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Experience/Skills/Working Environment/Certifications):
Education:In pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or related field
Skills/Experience
- Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), or other design tools
- Strong eye for visual design and layout
- Experience with social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint), Outlook, and Teams
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
Working Environment
- Access to a personal computer/laptop
- Access to reliable internet
- Access to a quiet area for virtual team meetings
- Must have Full Version of Microsoft Office
- Access to Adobe Creative Suites
Credentials/Certifications
- Successful completion of background check
Application Requirement:
Interested candidates must submit a current resume along with a portfolio or samples of relevant work (e.g., social media content, graphic designs, flyers, presentations) to demonstrate their creative skills and design experience.
Tasks:
Position Responsibilities:
Design and edit marketing materials including flyers, brochures, and handouts
Support the creation and scheduling of social media content across platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
Assist with the creation and formatting of PowerPoint presentations for internal and external use
Ensure all materials adhere to brand guidelines and accessibility standards
Assist with newsletter design and formatting in platforms like Constant Contact
Collaborate with the Marketing and Fund Development team on campaign planning and execution
Work with additional departments to support in collateral and material design implementation
Attend and take notes at relevant marketing meetings
Provide general support for special communications projects as assigned
Training:
Training/Tasks: To be provided by the Director of Marketing & Communications through tutorials, brand guidelines, and weekly meetings.
