VRC Student Program Enhancement InternAt — CSUF - Veterans Resource Center
Over the course of this 10-week summer internship, the student will collaborate with professional staff to enhance Student Staff training materials through the lens of program evaluation. Her main project will involve developing inclusive CANVAS training modules that accommodate various learning styles to improve engagement and comprehension among student workers. Additional tasks include creating instructional videos on specific student benefit scenarios, updating the benefit folder, and organizing interactive training activities to build rapport. This internship will allow her to gain valuable insight into program evaluation and resource creation—skills that align with her post-graduation career goals. Ultimately, her contributions will support the VRC by improving front desk training processes and fostering a student-centered, strengths-based learning environment.

Training
- One-on-one mentoring sessions – Regular check-ins with the supervisor to provide feedback, guidance, and reflection opportunities on program evaluation and resource development.
- Hands-on project-based learning – Assigning real-world tasks like building training modules or updating materials to help you apply evaluation methods in a practical setting.
- Collaborative planning and brainstorming – Engaging in joint discussions to co-create training strategies, ensuring you gain experience in inclusive design and team-based problem-solving.
- Review and critique sessions – Supervisor provides constructive feedback on drafts of your training materials, helping refine your evaluation and communication skills.
