HYBRID Intake Coordinator (Intern)
StandUp for Kids - Orange County was launched in 2003 with a single focus: to end the cycle of youth homelessness in our community. We work to provide basic needs, housing, mentoring support, care, and love to at-risk and homeless youth ages 12-24.
We are looking for a Intake Coordinator to facilitate phone intakes, including TAY VSpadt. The Intake Coordinator is a critical position, the first line of contact with youth. This is a great opportunity to donate time, resources, and talent to support our important mission.
Position Summary
This position will receive and process confidential client information from a variety of sources including, over the phone, via fax, email, and in person, for StandUp for Kids Program. The Coordinator will enter and log calls, and dispatch call follow-ups to case managers.

This position reports to the Case Manager
· This is an unpaid internship.
Responsibilities
Answer the phone live 80% of the time
Conduct intakes live over the phone, from faxes, emails, or in person and upload them to our server.
Input intakes in the data management system live or immediately after getting off the call.
Be encouraging and supportive of the mentee.
Provide linkage to other programs and services, including mental health, medical, vision, food, and employment.
Keep daily logs current.
Input data into appropriate data system.
Generate reports as needed meeting prescribed deadlines.
Adhere to consent and confidentiality provisions required by the ombudsman program, including the maintenance of confidential files and confidential information.
Assist with special data related projects as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Intern must be 18+ years of age.
Submit an application, 3 forms of reference, and a copy of a photo ID.
Pass a criminal background check and submit the $18 fee.
Completion of all required orientation and training.
Take and pass mandated reporting training online and provide certificate to supervisor.
Ability to use keyboard and phone to intake information.
Ability to accept all complaints including reports of alleged abuse.
Ability to answer the phone live.
Compile and accurately report statistical data in conformance with established policies and procedures using the state required data collection.
Must maintain regular attendance
Must properly handle and maintain confidential information.
Submit hours once a month.
Complete evaluation surveys as requested by staff.
Successfully complete an interview position with staff member.
Educational Requirements
Applicants must currently enrolled in an accredited college/university majoring in Social Work, Child Adolescent Studies, Psychology, Human Services, Public Health or similar field; or be a recent graduate who completed their degree in one of the above-mentioned fields.

· Interns will be assigned a semester project and will provide supervisor with weekly updates. Examples are: planning career speakers; collecting, entering and tracking grades; demographic survey, updating resource guide, research; and other community outreach as needed.

Volunteer Orientation - 4 hours virtual
Job role training - 1 hour virtual
Onboarding - 1 hour virtual
