Opportunity Summary 

The intern will gain hands-on experience in managing the supply chain operations for our pet product line, specifically dog leashes, harnesses, and collars. Responsibilities will include assisting with inventory tracking, order fulfillment, vendor coordination, and logistics management. The intern will help streamline our supply chain processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This role will provide exposure to key supply chain management functions, including procurement, warehousing, transportation, and demand forecasting.

Task:

Assist with tracking and managing inventory levels for dog leashes, collars, and harnesses to ensure stock availability. Help process and fulfill customer orders in a timely and efficient manner, coordinating with warehouses and logistics providers. Support vendor management by gathering quotes, analyzing vendor performance, and tracking order status. Assist in managing the inbound supply of raw materials or finished products from suppliers. Monitor logistics and transportation costs to identify areas for improvement. Help prepare demand forecasts by analyzing past sales data and identifying trends. Participate in maintaining and updating product catalogs for accurate inventory tracking. Generate supply chain reports and dashboards to present findings to the Supply Chain Manager.

Training:

Initial training on the company’s supply chain software, inventory management tools, and logistics processes. Weekly meetings with the Supply Chain Manager to review ongoing tasks and progress. Mentorship on how to assess and manage supplier relationships and improve supply chain performance. Hands-on training in inventory management, order fulfillment processes, and logistics coordination. Access to online courses or resources related to supply chain management best practices and tools. Regular performance evaluations to guide improvement and skill development.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the internship, the student will be able to: Understand and assist with the flow of goods from suppliers to customers in an e-commerce environment. Use supply chain software and tools to track inventory and optimize order fulfillment. Develop and implement product marketing strategies for e-commerce. Use tools such as Shopify and Google Analytics to manage and analyze marketing efforts. Analyze and interpret data related to inventory management, logistics, and vendor performance. Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to manage procurement and supply chain issues. Develop a basic understanding of demand forecasting and how it influences supply chain decisions.
