WordPress Website Maintenance & Social Media ContentAt — Fresno-Madera K-16 Collaborative
Primary Role: WordPress Website Maintenance (Approx. 2-4 hours/week)
As our WordPress Website Maintenance Intern, you will play a key role in keeping our online presence up-to-date and running smoothly. Your primary focus will be on our main website, Fresno Madera Higher Ed for All, with occasional work on our new microsite, Explore It Achieve It.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with content updates and changes to ensure a consistent and user-friendly experience.
- Regularly update and edit WordPress core, themes, and plugins.
- Identify and fix broken links, as well as troubleshoot technical issues.
- Monitor website performance and analytics, identifying areas for optimization.
- Collaborate with the team to implement SEO best practices and improve site visibility.
- Research website backup plugins and/or perform regular website backups, ensuring proper storage and restoration procedures.
- Document and track all maintenance tasks and technical issues.
Secondary Role: Social Media Content Creation (Approx. 1-2 hours/week)
In addition to website maintenance, you will help enhance audience engagement across our social media platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with creating and scheduling engaging, brand-aligned content (graphics, posts, stories) for our social media channels.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Current college student (preferably in a related field such as Communications, Marketing, Web Design, or Computer Science; or related work experience).
- Strong understanding of WordPress platform and its functionalities.
- Experience with WordPress core, themes, and plugins.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with an eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn) and content scheduling tools.
- Has access to a computer/internet for remote work.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of website performance optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Familiarity with website security and SEO is a plus.
