Research Assistant - Dr. Nobari - Summer 2025At — CSUF - Public Health
1) communicate and work with a research team professionally including planning and coordinating meetings.
2) transcribe audio recordings of interviews as well as translate Spanish interviews into English
3) create a quantitative dataset using Excel and analyze data
4) conduct literature reviews on a range of public health topics (housing insecurity, food insecurity, child obesity)
5) follow human research protections in all of her tasks as outlined by CSUF's IRB.
Training
1) teach the student how to transcribe and enter quantitative data into an Excel dataset
2) teach the student on how to conduct literature reviews
3) discuss the importance of human research protections at every step
4) meet with the student at least weekly
Tasks/Duties
Communicating effectively with a PI (Dr. Nobari) and a research team
Following ethical code of conduct principles and policies (such as ensuring that human subjetcs data are secure)
Being able to transcribe interviews and to create an Excel dataset
Conducting a literature review (knowing which databases to search, the different types of publications and what info to extract from journal articles)
