The accounting intern will gain hands on accounting experience and learn about the various aspects of the accounting function, include but not limited in accounts receivable, accounts payable, internal audit and general accounting
Tasks:
1. Perform 3 way matching for accounts payable invoice validation and processing
2. Perform AP and AR data entry in SAP
3. Ensure all journal entries follow the accrual basis of accounting. Record entries in the correct accounting period (revenue recognition and expense recognition principles).
Training:
Work directly with AR and AP supervisors to learn the full cycle daily AR and AP operation. SOP was provided for references. Review progress daily for the 1st week, and weekly for 3 weeks and monthly afterwards
Learning Outcome:
1. Understand Full-Cycle AP and AR Accounting Processes:
Gain hands-on experience with full cycle AR from Sales order entry, pick and pack, shipping and invoicing, payment posting and collection.
Gain hands-on experience with full cycle AP from purchase order entry, 3 way match verification, post transaction in SAP and payment processing Also review journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and monthly closings.
2 Develop Proficiency in Accounting Software:
Learn how to navigate and use professional ERP: SAP.
3. Apply GAAP Principles in Practice:
Reinforce academic knowledge by applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to real-world transactions and reporting scenarios.
