Data Analyst InternAt — Family Promise of Orange County
Family Promise of Orange County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping end family homelessness in Orange County. Our programs serve primarily, families with children under 18 years old and rely almost, entirely on our network of volunteers and dedicated interns to get the work done.
Position Summary: The Data Analyst Intern is charged with providing assistance to the Operations Manager in the forms of report pulling, strategic analysis, administrative work, and other duties as seen fit by the manager. The intern will have specific semester goals and will meet weekly for supervision and mentoring. This is a hybrid-internship, meaning you will be expected to come into the office based on the agreement between you and your supervisor.
The Data Analyst internship is viewed as being an educational opportunity for you, rather than a part time job. This is an non-paid academic internship. As such, your internship will include training/orientation and focus primarily on learning and developing new skills and gaining a deeper understanding of concepts through hands-on applications of the knowledge you learned in class. Pursuant to the Fair Labor Standards Act, we will abide by the U.S Department of Labor guidelines.
Duties/Responsibilities:
-Pulling donation reports from Neon software to create donor cultivation programs
-Analyzing donor/donation reports and editing data on Neon software for Operations Manager’s Monthly report
-Call-log’s Monitoring Analytics research and reporting
-Volunteer reporting and Data analyzing
-Learn and receive guidance on how to create and read reports and campaign data
-Organize and compile data in various formats/medias
-Weekly Zoom check-ins with Operations Manager
-Attend work events if possible
-Complete end of Internship Project
-Evaluation of Internship and Operations Manager
Training:
Intern will receive a formal onboarding process include presentation of duties and expectations, sign an offer letter, and submit an emergency contact form. Throughout the internship, intern will meet weekly with the supervisor to discuss current tasks/assignments and career development. Intern will also receive midway and end of internship evaluations.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the internship, the intern will have the tools to complete the following:
1. Gain familiarity in utilizing CRM systems, vital for the workplace
2. Understand how to read and interpret reports
3. Create targeted campaigns through integrated tools
4. Gain an understanding about client cultivation
Statement of Confidentiality:
It is the policy of FPOC that interns will not disclose confidential information regarding the families, donors, or volunteers obtained through their affiliation with FPOC to any person, including their relatives, friends, and business and professional associates, unless FPOC has authorized disclosure.
Compliance:
The Intern acknowledges that they will have access to organization equipment and intellectual property. The Intern agrees that the property shall remain exclusive to FPOC and is only authorized to use the property when given directions by their supervisor.
Upon conclusion of the internship, the intern will immediately deliver all organization property that is then in the intern's possession, custody or control, including, without limitation, all keys, cell phones, tablets, computer hardware including but not limited to any hard drives, flash drives, external storage devices, laptops, tablets, as well as data, materials, papers, books, files, documents, records and any and all documents or other items containing, summarizing, or describing any proprietary Information, back to FPOC.
Please be advised that FPOC considers refusal to return company property to be theft. If the above listed items are not returned, FPOC will contact local law enforcement. Please contact your supervisor at the end of your internship immediately to arrange for the return of any and all property.
This is an unpaid internship.
The FPOC Intern would not be considered an employee of Family Promise of Orange County, therefore the intern is not eligible for benefits.
