PT Clinic InternAt — Rosemary Johnson and Associates Clinic, Inc.
Due to privacy laws we are not able to have observers in the clinic. We are able to have volunteers who work to keep areas clear, make therapy items, etc. This enables them to be in the clinic and observe treatments. They are able to ask questions regarding treatment after the child has left.
Tasks:
Hang equipment at correct height for the child. Gather motivators for infants, organize an put away equipment. Try some of the activities to develop a better understanding go task requirements (e.g. Interactive Metronome. Observe fine motor and ADL tasks.
Training:
Eliza received an orientation to the clinic and various helpful tasks. She watched a video on ABA as part of ow to work with children with disabilities with a test at the end. Eliza is welcome to ask questions and has the opportunity to interact with an OT affiliate for next academic step expectations.
Learning Agreement:
1. Shadow at least therapists and write reflection on what was learned or gained from the session.
2. Bridge gap of school and what therapy looks like and how sensory input impact us.
3. When directed, set up equipment for patients and learn the purpose of the equipment.
