Opportunity Summary 

Job Description:
The Art Director Intern will support the creative team in developing visual concepts and executing design work for a variety of projects, including social media campaigns, brand presentations, pitch decks, and marketing materials. This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative creative environment, with direct mentorship and regular feedback. The intern will be expected to contribute original ideas, follow creative briefs, and help bring concepts to life through thoughtful design.

This position is ideal for a student pursuing a career in art direction, graphic design, or advertising, looking to build a professional portfolio and gain real-world experience in a creative studio setting.

Tasks:

The intern will perform the following duties:

Conceptualize and design creative assets for real-world campaigns, including but not limited to social media posts, storyboards, digital ads, pitch decks, moodboards, and brand presentations.

Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and contribute original ideas to campaign concepts, visual directions, and storytelling strategies.

Translate creative briefs into visual executions by aligning with brand guidelines, strategic goals, and target audience insights.

Collaborate with cross-functional team members such as writers, producers, and strategists to develop integrated, on-brand creative solutions.

Receive and implement feedback during multiple rounds of revision, learning how to improve work based on constructive critique while maintaining creative integrity.

Assist in organizing and preparing presentation materials for internal reviews and, when appropriate, client-facing meetings.

Research current design trends, visual references, and competitor campaigns to support the ideation and execution process.

Training:

The student will receive the following training to support their learning outcomes:

Initial orientation covering the company’s mission, values, workflow, tools, brand guidelines, and expectations for the internship.

Weekly one-on-one mentor meetings with the Creative Director to review progress, give feedback, answer questions, and provide guidance on creative direction and professional development.

Hands-on job shadowing across different phases of creative production, including ideation, design execution, revisions, and client presentations.

Access to internal resources and work samples, including pitch decks, moodboards, brand books, and past campaigns, to help the intern understand expectations and standards.

Task contextualization and creative brief walkthroughs to ensure the intern understands the strategic and creative rationale behind every assignment.

On-the-job training with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, with opportunities to apply these tools in real projects.

Learning Outcome:

Develop and execute visual concepts across a variety of platforms, demonstrating a strong understanding of branding, storytelling, and audience engagement.

Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced creative environment, participating in brainstorms, giving and receiving feedback, and working cross-functionally with writers, producers, and other team members.

Apply industry-standard tools and software (such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma) to produce compelling design assets that meet real-world client and campaign needs.

Interpret creative briefs and brand guidelines to translate abstract ideas into visually compelling work that aligns with project goals.

Build a portfolio of professional-level work that reflects both individual creative vision and the ability to deliver on strategy in a collaborative setting.
