Opportunity Summary 

Course Overview

This internship provides hands-on experience in strength and conditioning, focusing on athlete development, program implementation, and sports performance. Interns will learn fundamental principles, gain practical coaching skills, Aid in the process of taking the Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) exam.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the internship, interns will:

  1. Understand and apply foundational S&C principles (strength, power, mobility, agility, conditioning).
  2. Develop competency in coaching key exercises (squats, Olympic lifts, plyometrics, Speed, Change of Direction.).
  3. Assist in athlete monitoring (jump testing, RSI, sprint times, load management, Facility Management).
  4. Learn program design principles and periodization strategies.
  5. Gain exposure to day-to-day operations of a high school S&C department.
  6. Prepare for the CSCS exam through guided study.

Intern Responsibilities

  • Attend all scheduled training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Assist in facility setup, equipment maintenance, and post-session breakdown.
  • Observe and support coaching staff in training sessions.
  • Provide hands-on coaching under supervision.
