Electrical Engineer InternAt — IDS Group, Inc.
Perform low voltage system design (i.e. security/fire systems, data/telecommunications systems, etc.).
Performs electrical engineering calculations including electrical load, conduit and electrical system sizing, and equipment (i.e. low/medium voltage power distribution systems, transformers, and panelboards)
Perform, determine and learn to understand electrical code to be able to implement design requirements. Respond to issues and work with City, State, and County officials for permits.
Evaluate the feasibility of renewable energy sources, energy-efficient technologies, and sustainability practices for electrical systems.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive integration of electrical systems.
Continuously seek innovative ways to improve the efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness of electrical designs while maintaining safety and compliance.
Tasks:
Student will be performing quick analysis of single line diagrams, code review and compliance with NEC. Tasks will also include responding to issues and work with City, State, and county officials for permits. Understanding RFIs and Responding to the requirements of RFIs under NEC codes.
Training:
Training will entail:
practical experience on energy efficient sources and energy efficient technologies and sustainable practices for electrical systems.
Also, training will entail working closely with Licensed Engineering staff.
One to One mentoring experiences.
