Opportunity Summary 

Casa Counseling is looking for Students who are interested in completing their Internship hours for their Undergraduate program with us at the Orange County offices.

We are looking for a responsible intern to perform various administrative tasks. The duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing support to our case managers. Responsibilities include making travel and meeting arrangements, preparing reports, answering phones, speaking with clients, and more. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools like MS Excel and office equipment.

The intern will demonstrate their learning outcomes by conducting client intakes effectively, through a trauma-focused lens. The intern will successfully complete presentations for Case Management/Admin staff to further update

Training:

Students will receive initial General Agency orientation upon first day. Students will successfully complete 40 Hour Domestic Violence Counselor Training, Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children 101 Training, and the State Mandated Reporter training. Students will attend weekly 1:1 meetings for supervision. Students will be provided work samples and descriptions of tasks assigned prior to completion. Students will conduct job shadowing in addition to on-the-job training for outreach events, and client intakes.

Learning Outcomes:

Students will complete 40-hour Domestic Violence Training, Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children 101 Training, and State Mandated Reporting Training programs. Students will have a hands-on introduction to case management and client intakes. Students will gain insight and maintain up-to-date information regarding local community-based organizations to provide effective and efficient referrals to clients. Students will learn about crisis management, safety planning, and advocacy. Students will also participate in outreach events to further inform the community at large of available resources and provide administrative support to the case management team.
