Opportunity Summary 

Our Video Editing Intern will work with our Executive and Marketing teams on a variety of film-related projects, including trailer editing, working with youth filmmakers on their video projects, filming Q&A's and panel discussions, and more. Adobe Premiere editing experience required. 

Tasks:

  • Creation of short film festival trailers
  • Collaborating with youth filmmakers on their spotlight projects
  • Capturing video and sound for Q&A's and panel discussions at The Frida
  • Coordinating shooting schedules with a team of filmmakers and their subject(s)

Training:

  • Initial General employer orientation
  • Weekly scheduled one-on-one mentor meetings, alternating between our marketing and Executive departments
  • Opportunities to work alongside community filmmakers and film teachers.
  • Opportunities to mentor community youth filmmakers
  • Best social media practices in posting and marketing short films

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to...

  • Work in a team-based environment on the completion of short spotlight videos.
  • Use pre-existing film content to create engaging film series trailers.
  • Learn optimal video and sound techniques to capture live discussions and Q&A's.
  • Participate in the overall operations of the marketing team of a non-profit arts venue and movie theater.
