Opportunity Summary 

The ABA Behavior Technician/Therapist (BT) will provide direct clinical skill acquisition, generalization, and maintenance instruction and implement maladaptive behavior reduction programs based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or a related developmental disability in the home, clinic, community, and school settings. The ABA Behavior Therapist will collect data on all client skill acquisition, reduction of maladaptive behavior, generalization, and maintenance of programs. 

Role and Responsibilities

Provide direct one-to-one ABA instruction and care in one-to-one and group settings, by utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training techniques, based on the individual needs of the client. 

  • Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition, generalization, maintenance and maladaptive behavior reduction protocols per treatment plan. 
  • Follow and record data for prescribed toilet training and adaptive living skill protocols.
    • Collect, record, and summarize data on all client skill acquisition, reduction of maladaptive behaviors, generalization, and maintenance programs.
  • Assist with a parent, caregiver, and/or legal guardian training in line with each client’s individualized treatment plan and behavior reduction goals and objectives as needed. 
  • Utilize safe and appropriate prompting and guidance procedures when working with clients. 
  • Maintain client confidentiality, dignity, welfare, and safety. 
  • Consistently convert timesheet and mileage each day following sessions with clients.
  • Consistently complete client session notes for each session per day.
  • Assist Clinical Supervisor with preparing client materials as instructed and as needed. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and treatment environment. 
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending and completing all required Company employee training courses.
  • Communicate questions with the Clinical Supervisor on the case.

Qualifications and Education Requirements Required

  • High school diploma or GED completed
  • 6 months of paid working experience with children or previous ABA experience
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable transportation and active auto insurance
  • TB test
  • Receive immunities to MMR
  • Verification of initial COVID vaccine/proof of waiver
  • Ability to keep up with active children to ensure client safety

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Speech and Language Pathology, or another related field. 
  • Experience working with children ages 0-25 providing one-to-one in-home or clinic-based ABA treatment services; experience implementing the principles, methods, and procedures of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA); Special Education; Speech and Language Therapy; or other Mental Health and Human Services experience.

Reporting Relationship

Supervisor: Licensed Clinical Director 

Related Training

Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and training courses once employed including, but not limited to: Registered Behavior Technician Training (RBT); Safety Care Training; Mandated Reporter Training; HIPAA Training; and other in-service agency trainings, as directed by assigned supervisor.

Background, Drug, and Alcohol Screening

Must be able to favorably Pass Fingerprinting, Background Checks, and Drug Testing

Tasks:

1) implement antecedent and consequence strategies
2) implement extinction procedures for maladaptive behaviors
3) complete session notes after each appointment
4) start and end session timer and collect signatures
5) demonstrate competence in behavior management
6) submitting timesheets and mileage in a timely manner

Training:

Mandatory initial training, Safety Care training, minimum 3 shadow sessions, Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment training, completion of session notes with signatures, and collection of data on Central Reach.

Learning outcome:

2) teach acquisition goals and promote generalization
3) collect data accurately to demonstrate progress
4) experience and growth with working with the special needs population
