Education & Employment InternAt — Project Kinship

Opportunity Summary 

The Education & Employment Intern will support Project Kinship’s reentry programs by assisting participants in developing career readiness skills and exploring educational opportunities. This internship provides hands-on experience in workforce development, reentry support, and human services, with mentorship from a dedicated team of professionals passionate about social justice and community transformation.

Tasks:

• Assist participants with resume building, job applications, and interview preparation.
• Support workshops on job readiness, professional attire, and workplace expectations.
• Provide guidance to participants exploring trade schools, certification programs, or higher education pathways.
• Help participants with job search strategies and accessing local employment resources.
• Collaborate with case managers and program staff to connect clients to vocational training and supportive services.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client participation and progress.
• Participate in team meetings, shadow reentry specialists, and contribute to program planning.

Training:

The intern will receive training in employment readiness, education navigation and professional skills. Orientation agency mission, employment services, navigation into higher education and professional skills.

Learning Outcome:

Learning to conduct job readiness assessments with formerly incarcerated individuals. Develop skills in resume and cover letter writing. Gain experience in mock interviews Understand workforce development programs. Strengthen case documentation skills.
