Teacher Assistant InternAt — Fountain Valley Montessori

The applicant must have 12 ECE units to apply. Or, the applicant must have 6 ECE units at the least and be enrolled in 6 more ECE units to apply.  

Tasks:

Assist the lead teacher in managing the classroom, watch for the children's safety and wellbeing and help children execute daily tasks such as learning, reading, writing, eating lunch, using the restroom and implementing positive redirection to maintain discipline and structure.

Training:

The applicant will be placed in a classroom under the tutelage and guidance of a fully trained and experienced teacher. They will be given the opportunity to plan curriculum, execute art projects, lead circle time and give lessons as per the lead teachers directions. They will be trained to monitor the safety and wellbeing of the children in their care, both inside the classroom and on the playground.

Learning Outcome:

1. Work in a classroom setting with preschool age children.
2. Be able to plan and execute curriculum for preschool age children
3. Be able to interact with parents of the children in their care.
