Opportunity Summary 

Volunteer to assist the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team in collating and filing medical paperwork, assembling charts, reviewing documentation and managing medical supplies. Efficiency and Accuracy is of utmost importance. Great opportunity to gain valuable healthcare/medical experience working directly with extraordinary staff.

Tasks:

Collecting, sorting, and filing medical documents.
Preparing medical documents, charts and supplied for Hospice use.
Assist in office environment management like faxing, copying, auditing supply use.
Data entry.

Training:

Orientation and continuing education by nurses, chaplains, social workers, and doctors about topics relates to hospice like history of hospice, self-care, dementia, grief, advance healthcare directives and more.
Mentored by team managers and team secretaries on daily skills and will learn how to collaborate with other disciplines.

Learning Outcome:

Will gain understanding about hospice services.
Will gain confidence in collaborating with other team members in office setting.
Will gain skills to apply for the hospice team secretary positions.
