Accountability PartnerAt — Stepping Forward LA
Accountability Partners will be responsible for working with short-term paid interns and ensuring they have all of the skills, tools and direction they need to complete all assignments. Assignments to include researching available apartments and jobs, providing solutions for housing scenarios and updating geo-map content. Assignments will also include creating content in Canva including one-page PDFs as well as videos and presentations.
Accountability Partners will work directly with interns to provide support, provide feedback on assignments and engagement in meetings. They will also keep all content in Learning Series updated and creating and editing content when needed.
Furthermore, all Accountability Partners will serve as role models to SFLA staff, interns and Stepping Forward LA App members. They will make presentations, meet one-on-one or in small groups with interns, conduct meet and greets and attend all de-brief and planning meetings with SFLA staff. Accountability Partners will also present - and take part in - character and skills development workshops and exercises, in order to provide the best support for our interns, housing candidates and Stepping Forward LA App members to provide the best experience possible.
Tasks:
Participation in all planning meetings to develop curriculum
Lead weekly meetings with interns
Review assignments completed by interns and provide feedback
Meet weekly with Stepping Forward LA Staff to provide updates, changes needed and present new ideas
Work with 3 intern cohorts each week (~50 interns)
Training:
The trainings the intern will participate in:
- General on-boarding meeting
- Weekly group meetings with other accountability partners
- One-on-one meetings with their supervisor
- Weekly group meetings with their assigned interns
- One-on-one meetings with interns needing additional support
Learning Outcome:
1. This internship will expand the skill set of the intern to be able to coordinate a variety of assignments and prioritize the most important tasks to all be completed by the deadline.
2. The internship will ensure the intern has a clear idea of how to succeed in a professional environment.
3. The intern will participate in brainstorm, planning and debriefing meetings where they will successfully learn how to use their voice, creativity and advocacy skills.
4. The intern will work directly with current and former foster youth to provide group and one-on-one support.
5. The intern will be able to lead team discussions, explain assignments and provide concise summaries and updates from their time with the interns.
